Muskegon ChannelCats Name Butch Grimm President

September 1, 2019

MUSKEGON, MI – The Muskegon ChannelCats are proud to announce that Butch Grimm has been named President.

Butch prepared the following statement to introduce himself:

“Hello, my name is Dale Grimm, but my friends call me “Butch”.  As a high school teacher and youth and high school coach over the last three decades, I enjoy competition,  getting the best out of kids, and striving to be the best I can be.  As a graduate of Ferris State University, I currently teach Industrial Technology Education at Fruitport High School, Wy wife, Elizabeth, and I are the proud parents of five kids Daniel, Rachel, Travis, Ryan, and Jacob. As educators, we enjoy spending our free time with our kids in either educational or athletic adventures.  Our latest adventure included me being the Little League coach of Ryan, a 12-year-old player for the Beach baseball All-Star team that reached the state championship game before bowing out in the recent 2019 Little League World Series.  Other teams I currently coach are the 13U Muskegon ChannelCats travel baseball team, the 5th and 6th grade Spring Lake Youth football teams, two youth travel basketball teams, and recreational baseball for Beach Little League in Fruitport.  As President of the ChannelCats youth travel baseball organization, I look forward to leading, sustaining, and building upon the traditions that have been established in the West Michigan area.”

The President is responsible for ensuring the organization's mission of giving players the opportunity to build a solid foundation of fundamental skills, learn the value of teamwork, and, most importantly, have fun playing the game of baseball. Butch is entering his 5th season as a ChannelCats coach. In addition, he will continue to serve as VP of Baseball Development.

Past President Jason Piasecki will stay involved with the ChannelCats as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
